For the second straight game, the Pottstown boys basketball team kept the pedal to the metal on the court.

This time, however, the Trojans found themselves on the high end of the scoreboard.

With junior guard Rich Duvivier and junior forward Bryant Quill leading the way, visiting Pottstown lit it up for 73 points over the first three quarters en route to an 83-34 Pioneer Athletic Conference victory over Upper Perkiomen.

The Trojans, who were coming off Friday night's epic 108-104 overtime loss to Spring-Ford, improved to 3-3 in the Frontier Division and 5-7 overall.

Duvivier scored a game-high 27 points and Quill scored 22 points for Pottstown, which opened leads of 31-8 at the quarter and 53-9 at the half. Teammate Marleeke Lear scored eight points.

Matt Ruskey scored a team-high 13 points for Upper Perkiomen (0-7, 1-12).

Phoenixville 51, Owen J. Roberts 41: Michael Anthony scored 15 points and DeAndre Gadsden scored 14 points to lead the Phantoms past the Wildcats in PAC-10 play.

Owen J. Roberts (1-7, 6-9), which got a game-high 25 points from Matt Crider, led 14-8 after a quarter before the Phantoms (2-5, 5-9) gradually took over.





Pope John Paul II 59, Pottsgrove 37: Gabby Troisi scored a game-high 18 points as the Golden Panthers remained perfect in league play by topping the Falcons.

Susan Bossler scored 10 points and Jenna Widdicombe scored eight points for PJP (7-0, 12-1), which opened a 37-14 halftime lead.


Alliyah Austin led Pottsgrove (1-6, 3-9) with 12 points.

Upper Perkiomen 45, Pottstown 34: Holly Crossin scored a game-high 18 points as Upper Perkiomen halted a four-game losing streak by downing the Trojans in PAC-10 play.

Aubrey Gibbs scored 10 points and Morgan Aldinger scored eight points for the Tribe (3-4, 5-7), which pulled away from a 21-15 halftime advantage.

Amiyah Hudson had 13 points and Sidney Sanford had 12 points for Pottstown (9-6, 1-12).

Perkiomen School 54, Kimberton Waldorf 22: Nicole Pupillo and Kristen Burdo each scored 16 points as the Panthers rolled to the Tri-County League victory.

Perkiomen School (8-0, 10-1) opened leads of 14-4 at the quarter and 30-17 at halftime.

Boyertown 66, Governor Mifflin 45: Freshman Abby Kapp scored a season-high 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out four assists as the Bears took down the Mustangs in non-league action.

Marie Valenti scored 10 points and Ali Bauman scored nine points for the Bears (9-2), who broke open a 29-23 halftime lead thanks to 12 second-half points by Kapp.





Boyertown 94, Phoenixville 71: Patrick Lance and Nick Vivian had three wins each for the Bears in a PAC-10 dual at the Boyertown pool.

Lance touched first in the 200-yard IM (2:10.47), the 500 freestyle (5:03.76), and swam on the Bears winning 200 free relay, while Nick Vivian won the 100 free (52.97) and swam on the 200 medley and the 200 free relays. Parker Vivian won the 100 butterfly (59.42), Rhett Watts the 200 free (1:57.34), Nick Savino the 50 free (24.47)

For Phoenixville, Jan Acland won the 100 backstroke (1:01.09) and Josh Ziev the 100 breaststroke (1:12.94).





Phoenixville 91, Boyertown 79: Shawna Moore and Maddie Cooke led Phoenixville with four wins each as the Phantoms remained undefeated in the PAC-10 at 3-0, beating Boyertown at the Bears pool.

Moore won the 50 free (26.24), the 100 fly (1:04.71), and anchored the Phantoms winning 200 medley and 200 free relays. Cooke touched first in the 200 IM (2:17.10), the 100 100 breaststroke (1:10.46), and also swam on the two winning relays. Kathrine Bland won the 100 back (1:04.76).

Laura Simpson had three wins for Boyertown, taking the 200 free (2:04.51), the 100 free (56.55) and anchoring the Bears winning 400 free relay. Catherine Coates won the 500 free (5:37.73) and also swam on the winning 400 free relay.
