With her team trailing 2-0 at halftime, Kayla Smith strung together three goals to give Upper Perkiomen a thrilling, 3-2, overtime victory Friday in a PAC-10 girls soccer contest against Perkiomen Valley.

Tori Walter and Ashley Dowiak each scored within 20 minutes in the first half to give the Vikings an early two-goal lead by halftime.

But in the sixth minute of the second half, Smith scored off her own rebound to cut the Vikings' lead in half. Just four minutes later, Smith found the net again on a breakaway with an assist from Mackenzie Gebhardt to tie the game 2-2.

Three minutes into the second overtime, Smith completed the hat trick off an assist from Megan Ritting to give Upper Perkiomen the victory.

With the win, Upper Perkiomen improves its record to 8-3-0, while Perkiomen Valley drops to 3-6-0.Friends Central 3, Hill School 2: Julia Hernan's nine saves for the Blues weren't enough as they lost a non-league match to Friends Central.

Grace Gvodas and Sydney Charlton each netted a goal for the Hill School.


Owen J. Roberts 4, Pottstown 1: The Wildcats combined a strong offense with a solid defense to earn a PAC-10 victory over the Trojans.

Shane Kelly, Bruce Dowlin, Nate Smith and Andrew Sianaeach each scored one goal in the game. Ben Huzzard contributed two assists while Jared Cooney and Taurean Lee each had one. Sheif Mohamed scored the lone goal for the Trojans.Perkiomen Valley 7, Upper Perkiomen 0: Scott Neal's two-goal, two-assist game was more than enough to give the Vikings a PAC-10 victory over the Indians.


Eric Podwojski also netted two goals while Alex Dove, Kyle Charlton and Matt Genuardi each had one. Genuardi contributed two assists. Corey Jackson and Nick Snyder combined for two saves in goal to earn the shutout.Perkiomen School 3, Kimberton 0: After a scoreless first half, Perkiomen School took over the second half as it scored three times to defeat Kimberton in a Tri-County League match.

Angel Lopez, PK Arthur and Alex Novikov each scored for Perkiomen School. Benj Shapiro contributed an assist.


Boyertown 1, Phoenixville 0: Rebekah Jones scored the lone goal of the game to give the Bears a PAC-10 victory over the Phantoms.

Angela Diguiseppe and Emily Schlichter each made six saves in goal for Boyertown (4-5) to earn the shutout while Kim Rutherford made three saves for Phoenixville (3-6).Spring-Ford 3, Pope John Paul II 0: With Savanna Malloy figuring in on two of their goals, the Rams blanked the Golden Panthers in PAC-10 play.

Malloy assisted on Gabby Major's opening tally, then connected little more than three minutes later in the first half before Alexa Rothenberger added insurance in the second. Stephanie Petery, assisted by Erin Latoff, got PJP on the scoreboard with 21 seconds left in the second half.Owen J. Roberts 2, Pottstown 0: Maddie Mullen's two-goal effort gave the Wildcats (8-0-1) the edge over the Trojans (0-8-0) in a PAC-10 match.

Liz Karcewski and Emma Christman each had an assist for the Wilcats. Owen J. Roberts took 17 shots at goal and had 24 penalty corners, drawing a 16-save effort from goaltender Tyisha Reddick. Pottstown had just one shot at goal and one penalty corner, Allie Mooney and Lizzy Tamburro were forced to make just one save between them to secure the shutout.Upper Perkiomen 2, Perkiomen Valley 0: Maddie Fox figured in on both the Indians' goals in their PAC-10 victory over the Vikings.

Fox scored once and assisted on a tally by Aldinger. Casey Umstead was also credited with an assist for Upper Perk, which held 7-4 and 13-8 edges in shots on goal and corners, respectively.
