Girls volleyball

Hatboro-Horsham 3, Methacton 1: Hatboro-Horsham defeated Methacton 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-17 in non-league action on Thursday.

Sam Jones led H-H with 14 kills, while sophomore Cassidy Quattro had eight kills, Dymond Black had six and Alexa Kennedy had five.

Black also had seven blocks, while Katie McKay had three blocks and 23 assists. Candyce Riley had 11 digs.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy 3, St. Basil Academy 2: Gywnedd Mercy Academy defeated St. Basil 23-25, 27-25, 25-18, 21-25, 8-15 in Catholic Academies League action on Thursday.

Natalie Pisch led GMA, now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in AACA play, with 20 kills and three aces, while Allie DeAngelis had 35 assists and Lauren Holland 21. The Monarchs will face Upper Dublin on Friday.

Angela Evans led St. Basil with 33 kills and 22 digs, while Olivia Carter had nine kills and 24 digs. Tara Lorenz had 29 assists and Sheila Plunkett had 19.

Christopher Dock 3, Faith Christian 0: Kayla Dean led the Dock attack with 25 assists and five aces in Dock's three game sweep of Faith in Bicentennial League play. Lanae Hunsberger had a team high 12 kills, 19 digs and two blocks, while Jackie Teed had seven kills and six aces. Libero Anna Martin was solid on defense with 26 digs and three aces.

Dock next takes on New Hope on Tuesday and Mast Charter on Thursday.

Lansdale Catholic 3, West Catholic 0: Lansdale Catholic improved its PCL record to 2-0 with a sweep at West Catholic 25-2, 5-4, 25-6. Kelly Piotowicz led the team with 11 aces.


The Crusaders will take on Bethlehem Catholic next week.
