It was vital that the Cedar Crest girls' basketball team get back on the winning track, and the Falcons did Friday night.

Saddled with a four-game losing streak, the Falcons got back on the winning track by holding off Warwick 41-39 in Lititz. The win makes Cedar Crest 3-7 overall and 2-4 in Section One.

A 15-5 run through the second quarter turned a tight 10-8 game into a 25-13 halftime lead for the Falcons. Warwick pulled to within 33-26 by the start of the fourth quarter but couldn't come all the way back.

Nichole Wagner had the hot hand for Crest, scoring 18 points, while Rachel Miller added 10.

  • Lebanon Catholic 62, Columbia 49: In Columbia, the Beavers put the Tide away with a 20-11 run through the second quarter, improving to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in Section Four.

    Catholic led 31-25 after the second quarter before using the eight-minute run in the first eight minutes of the second half to build a commanding 51-36 advantage. Abby Shay paced the Beavers with 18 points, while Catherine Gross added 12 and Helene Reist chipped in 10.

  • Cocalico 44, Lebanon 42 (OT): In Lebanon, the Cedars dropped a heartbreaker in overtime. Brittany Ulrich paced Lebanon with 22 points and drained five 3-pointers in the losing effort.


  • Annville-Cleona 60, Lancaster Mennonite 37: In Lancaster, the Little Dutchmen rolled to the win thanks to a game-opening 14-4 spurt that grew to 30-14 by halftime. Alex Siebecker (three 3-pointers) and Elaina Wanamaker both had 18 points for A-C.

  • Palmyra 69, Susquehanna 40: In Harrisburg, the Cougars stayed perfect by rolling to the Keystone Division win. Carly Richardson hit for 27 points and five 3-pointers in Palmyra's winning effort, while Kait Carmo supported her with a 24-point effort.
