It's highly unlikely for a player to have two career highs on back-to-back nights. It's even more unlikely for him to score 20 points in one quarter. It's near impossible for him to have a stretch of eight perfect minutes.

James Buchanan senior Grant Strawoet did all of that and more last week and is the Public Opinion Male Athlete of the Week.

"It felt pretty awesome, especially to have a perfect quarter," Strawoet said. "I've never done anything like that. It was just pretty cool, and my teammates noticed and kept feeding me the ball."

On Friday night, Strawoet emerged as the Rockets' leader when he scored what was then a career-high 19 points against Greencastle-Antrim. The Rockets were just two points away from upending the defending Mid Penn Colonial Division champions.

Then, just 24 hours later, Strawoet scored what is now his career-high with 25 points, and led the Rockets to just their second victory of the season by defeating Fannett-Metal, 63-51.

In the third quarter, Strawoet completely caught fire. He was 8-for-8 from the field, including four 3-pointers.

"I've struggled to shoot the ball early in the season, but now it seems like I've just found my shot," Strawoet said. "But I give credit to my teammates because they helped me get open and they got me the ball."

Strawoet has an interesting situation because his father, Larry, is currently the Rocket head coach. Although coach Strawoet has high expectations for his son, Grant said he feels no added weight on his shoulders.

"He coached in my eighth-grade year, so I knew what it was going to be like," Grant said. "I don't really feel any extra pressure."

Grant has been playing basketball since he was a little kid, and Larry said the first time he took his son to a basketball court was when he was just a week old. Because of that experience, coach Strawoet said he thinks Grant's biggest strength is his knowledge of the game.

"His basketball IQ is tremendous; Grant's like a coach on the floor out there," Larry said. "He is truly a student of the game. He's always watching and not just for enjoyment, but for an understanding of the game."

Coach Strawoet said he hopes Grant can keep up the energy he possessed in the last week throughout the rest of the season, but the father-son duo are going to enjoy the time they have together regardless.

"It's very much an enjoyable experience for me," Larry said. "After coaching for so many years and now returning back to the sideline and being able to share this season with him has been amazing."
