Season highlight: Beating Gettysburg in the district quarterfinals Gelsinger said, "We had lost five straight games to them, including the same round of of the playoffs the year before. And to outscore them like that was amazing because they don't give up many goals."

High expectations: "We came into the season with 13 seniors so we thought it should be a pretty good year. It was important that the boys worked hard over the summer."

Getting some help: "My assistants really helped. Delbert Myers puts in a lot of time in the offseason and Joe Melius works with the goalkeepers."

Season's finish: The Blue Devils played the last two games without all-star goalkeeper Josh Spoonhour "I think the kids were thinking about not having Josh, so we talked to them about it.

And Josh Ecko came in and played well. Our last two losses were to the state finalists and at one time we had a 3-2 lead on Pequea Valley."
