Anthony Berkoh cashed in a late goal and Ryan Johnson came out on top in a goaltending duel, lifting Upper Darby over host Academy Park, 1-0, Thursday in nonleague boys soccer.

Berkoh jumped on Marc Howard's cross into the box in the 68th minute and buried a low shot into the corner of the net for the game's lone score.

Johnson made three saves and received plenty of defensive support from the rest of the Royals (2-1) in posting the shutout, while Justin Waters suffered the loss despite stopping a dozen shots for the Knights (0-2).

In other nonleague matches:Bonner-Prendergast 5, Glen Mills 0: Alex Turner netted two goals and set up one score, Jake Miller authored a pair of assists and Jon Mathis stopped seven shots for the shutout. Pat Lutes, Sean O'Connell and Ryan Kerrigan also scored for the Friars, who kept Bulls keeper Daniel Camarena (20 saves) under constant pressure.Episcopal Academy 4, Octorara 2: Sophomore Matt Depillis celebrated his first varsity goal with Rafael Furey, Michael Hinckley and Aaron Bogle rounding out the scoring, and goalie Matt Freese accounted for one save and an assist in the win. Westtown 3, The Christian Academy 0: The Crusaders dropped their season opener despite a 13-save effort by junior goalie Joseph Opdenaker.
