The Elco High School girls' soccer program may soon have a new leader.

Derek Fulk, a longtime assistant with the boys' and girls' soccer teams at Elco, is expected to be named the Raiders' new head coach pending school board approval.

The school district has not announced that Fulk is in line to succeed Steve Keller, who stepped down at the end of the season, and athletic director Doug Bohannon declined any comment when contacted about the matter. But an item for the board to approve Fulk as the next head coach appears on the agenda for tonight's school board committee meeting that is posted on the school district website. It is listed as a non-action item, meaning the board would not vote on it until its regular monthly meeting next Monday, Feb. 11.

In addition to his longtime association with both the boys' and girls' soccer teams, Fulk has also served as an assistant for the Raider football team and, in the summertime, with the Myerstown American Legion baseball team.
