Accomplishments: P.O. first team in 2011 First team Sideling Hill League and ICC this fall.

Quotes: Spartan coach Toby McGarvey said, "Nikki's been our center midfielder for three seasons and when she hits the field she's in game mode. She could feed our other girls up top, but she also had a powerful shot with either foot."

Notes: Fleming's 39 career assists is a school record She may attend PSU Mont Alto to be a sports therapist.

Accomplishments: P.O. second team last year.

Quotes: "Katie is starting to develop into a really strong player," Mercersburg coach Jason Bershatsky said. "Speed is probably her biggest asset because she can get behind the defense, but she is also super determined to score.


She's the type of player that is really working the hardest to become a good soccer player by putting in the time."

Notes: She tied with Paige Wolny for the team lead in scoring.

Sam Nichols, jr., def., Waynesboro

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Div. first team choice 2011 P.O. First Team all-star.

Quotes: Maiden coach Brian Fisher said, "Sam is a fierce competitor who has a great combination of skill and heart. She is athletic, physical, quick and is confident on the ball. She has an awesome work rate and is always positive."

Notes: Nichols moved from center midfielder to sweeper about halfway through the season.

Nikki Garns, jr., mid., Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: 6 goals, 4 assists (6, 8 in career)

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Division second team pick.

Quotes: Greencastle coach Greg Cole said, "This is the first year she's been healthy and she progressed a lot. We found a place for her at outside right mid that worked for her to attack defenders. I think she's actually faster with the ball at her feet. She got more confident as the season went on. I think playing club ball helped her with that."

Rochelle Timmons, sr., for., James Buchanan

Statistics: 13 goals, 13 assists (36, 16 in career)

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Division first team P.O. second team in 2011

Quotes: Rocket coach Terry Appleby said, "She is fast and strong, and she has a huge heart. She did well when you consider she didn't play club ball for a long time. Because of that lack of experience, she relied on her other assets."

Notes: Timmons is looking at Wilkes College and Pitt-Johns-town for a possible college destination.

Alysha McCleaf, sr., for., Waynesboro

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Division first-team selection

Quotes: "Alysha sets a great example for her teammates, is always a positive influence and has a work ethic second to none," Waynesboro coach Brian Fisher said. "She has excellent instincts as a goal scorer and possesses the ability to turn and shoot quickly. She is aggressive in the box and has an excellent shot on goal under pressure."

Sharon Juarez, sr., for., Greencastle-Antrim

Statistics: 14 goals, 12 assists (44, 19 in career)

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Division first team selection P.O. second team in 2011

Quotes: "The stat I like the most is that she led the team in assists," Blue Devil coach Greg Cole said. "She started with me here four years ago and I've seen her progress in her ability to pass. She made an effort to improve on that this year. With a two-forward system, she was the ball holder and she worked well with Alicia Crider, who had the speed up top."

Alysia Clawson, sr., for., Shippensburg

Statistics: 16 goals, 2 assists (60, 25 in career)

Accomplishments: Mid Penn Colonial Division first-team all-star 2011 P.O. first team

Quotes: Shippensburg coach Mary Miller said, "Alysia can compete with anyone. She controls the ball well, distributes the ball well and sees the field very well. She played striker and midfield. We dropped her back sometimes to open up space for herself and other players."

Notes: Clawson was a P.O. second team pick in basketball last winter.

Melanie Rankin, jr., mid., Mercersburg Academy

Statistics: 6 goals, 9 assists (12, 10 in career)

Accomplishments: P.O. first team in 2011

Quotes: Mercersburg coach Jason Bershatsky said, "She's a tenacious player - if she loses the ball, she gets right back in the face of the opponent. She could get behind the defense and because of that she had nine assists. She hit a lot of nice crosses. When you watch one of our games, she sticks out as the hardest-working player on the field."
