Kennard-Dale wrestler Chance Marsteller won the prestigious Powerade wrestling tournament this past weekend, knocking off three top seeds to claim the 152-pound title.

Marsteller, a freshman, pinned Tayler Cable of South Side Beaver in 43 seconds, then decisioned No. 6-seed Brad Mutchnick of St. Pauls, Md., 10-2.

He took off from there. He scored an 18-2 technical fall against No.-3 seed Ben Johnson of Franklin Regional before dropping No. 2 Casey Kent of LaSalle College, 16-6.

He won the championship with an 8-3 decision against top-seeded Lorenzo Thomas of Central Catholic.
