Cory Blake scored 16 points and added 11 rebounds with seven assists to lead the West Chester University men's basketball team past host Chestnut Hill College, 71-61, on Wednesday.

Shannon Givens scored with 10 of his 13 points in the first half as West Chester (1-1), which never trailed in the nonleague game, led 36-28 at the break.

Chestnut Hill (1-2) cut the lead to two in the second half, but could not find the bucket to tie or go ahead.

Erik Frans recorded 11 rebounds and nine points to help West Chester to a 54-34 edge on the boards.Bowie St. 87, Cheyney 73: Deshawn Curtis had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Calvin Brown 10 points and 10 rebounds for Cheyney (0-1) in the nonleague game.

Field HockeyWCU's Lykens Named Top PSAC Player: West Chester University back Kelsi Lykens was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Field Hockey Athlete of the Year.

Megan Callanan (forward) and Downingtown West graduate Stef Pirri (midfield) made the All-PSAC first team.

Nancy Stehman was selected to the third team in the midfield.
