The Hamburg High School field hockey team split a pair of matches last week. The Lady Hawks are 4-4 in the Berks League and 10-6 overall.

On Oct. 2, Hamburg suffered a 3-1 loss to Berks Catholic. Karlie Heistand scored Hamburg's lone goal. Berks Catholic outshot Hamburg, 15-8, as Nikkole James made 12 saves in goal.

On Oct. 3, the Hawks crushed Exeter, 10-0. Hannah Shirk led the Hamburg offense with four goals. Heistand had three goals and two assists and April Stafford added three goals and one assist. Andrea Capitella, Olivia Essig and Tatum Mack all had one assist in the contest.

Hamburg dominated the game, outshooting Exeter 26-2. James made two saves in goal to record the shutout.
