Rob Marrison hasn't had to face Sherelle Walker in a varsity volleyball match. He has, however, coached her for six years -- two in middle school and all four in high school.

Consider him lucky on both counts.

"I think after the seventh grade season, she really had a love for volleyball, put in the extra time off the court going to volleyball camps and the weight room," Marrison said of his 6-foot senior, who was voted by YAIAA coaches as the league's Division II girls' volleyball player of the year.

Walker will attend the University of Maryland-Baltimore County next year.

"I know the coach from going to coaching clinics," Marrison said. "She'll do really well in (coach Ian Blanchard's) system there. It will be interesting to watch her career as it unfolds."

This season, Walker helped Susquehannock to the Division II championship -- with an undefeated record in the division. The Warriors also won the District 3 Class AA championship, beating eventual state champion Brandywine Heights.

As a player of the year, Walker took some time for a question-and-answer session. Here's what she had to say:

If you could change your school's mascot to something else, what would you choose?

The Lions, I guess? Everyone likes Lions. I'm a Leo, and lions are really strong and powerful.

If you ran into Lady Gaga at the local Sheetz, what would be the first thing you said to her?

I don't know, 'Hey what's up?' I'm a pretty big fan of Lady Gaga, but celebrities are just people, so I don't think I'd be that overwhelmed if I saw her.

You're eating Christmas dinner. What's on your plate?

I always have the biggest plate, and I probably only eat a quarter of it. Macaroni and cheese, ham, green beans, sweet potatoes. Do desserts count? Sweet potato pie. My aunt makes this triple chocolate supreme cake, which is awesome. And vanilla ice cream.

What's one thing you remember from elementary school recess?

Playing tag, girls against boys.

What's on your Christmas list?

I just got an iPhone, so that was my biggest item. I'm really happy with the iPhone, so I guess I'd want an iHome. I don't know, I don't really ask for much.

How often do you delete "friends" from Facebook? Do you feel guilty?

Actually, yeah. I mean, sometimes people can get a little overwhelming. I'm not like, deleting them from my life, so I don't really feel guilty about it. I've been on Twitter more than Facebook lately. (Sherelle's Twitter handle is: she_is_90210_. Note the underscore after 90210.).

If you could travel anywhere for a month, where would you go?

I'd go to Fiji. I am obsessed with the beach and the water there is so clear. I'd probably go scuba diving every day. It just seems like a really sweet place to go.

Do you have any pets? What kind and what are their names?

Just fish. We have this huge aquarium in our basement. My sister usually takes care of them.

Past or present, who's your favorite teacher? Why?

Mr. Heikes. He teaches pre-calc with trig. He taught so effortlessly, but I understood the material so well when he taught it to me. He made the material really interesting. It was really a class I looked forward to. I love math.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years? Ten?

I'm going to be a physical therapist in the future, so I'll probably study something along those lines. I'll probably still be in school, in med school or something, in the next five years. In the next 10 years, I see myself settled down with a good job and maybe even a family.
