Speed kills, and size does not hurt either.

New Oxford found that out Friday night as Dallastown unleashed too much speed and too much size for the Colonials to handle.

The Wildcats rolled to a 34-17 victory to improve to 4-1.

"It was a good win for us," Dallastown head coach Kevin Myers said. "We played well. We didn't punt at all."

The speed of running back Robert Catchings and the dual-threat capability of quarterback Andrew Henry left the New Oxford defense gasping for air.

The duo combined for 293 yards on the ground and all five of Dallastown's touchdowns.

"It was a big win for us," Catchings said. "We knew New Oxford was going to be a tough team after beating South Western in overtime last week. We played really well tonight. Our line played a very great game today. I had holes all day."

Catchings finished with 24 carries for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Henry finished with 11 carries for 98 yards and three first-half touchdowns.

"We always think we can run the ball on a team," Henry said. "Last week I made some misreads and just correcting them tonight, that is basically what happens when you run it right."

New Oxford opened up the game with a nine-play 70-yard drive that was capped off with Wesley Beans' 14-yard run up the gut for the touchdown. It was Beans' first carry of the game after fullback Aaron Zinneman rushed four times on the drive and also caught a 23-yard pass from quarterback Anthony Lippy.

It seemed like Friday was going to be New Oxford's night as Lippy went 3-for-3 on the drive for 36 yards.

Dallastown responded on the very next drive to tie things up on Henry's first touchdown of the game, a 4-yard run.

On Dallastown's next possession, Henry was sacked and fumbled the ball, and New Oxford's Jacob Morningstar recovered the ball.

The Colonials capitalized on the turnover with a 39-yard Trey Parrish field goal.

On their very next possession, the Wildcats fumbled again. Again New Oxford recovered, up by three points and with seemingly all the momentum.

The tide turned on the second play of the drive as Lippy was flushed from the pocket to his right and threw an errant pass that was intercepted by Dallastown's Drew Romesberg.

Six plays later, Henry scrambled to his left 14 yards for a touchdown and a 14-10 Dallastown lead.

That was all that Catchings, Henry and the Wildcats needed as they scored 20 unanswered points to jump out to a 27-10 lead.

"They just have size," New Oxford head coach Jason Thurston said. "Their line is huge. Their guards and center are very tall and heavy, and that just weighed on us. We have two defensive tackles that play offense as well. Their guys are one-way starters. That is tough, and it wears on you. They have speed, but we have speed, too. They just have a little more than we do."

New Oxford (3-2) travels to Northeastern next Friday, while Dallastown travels to South Western to open Division I play.
